Tradition of the Hosanna Jazz Liturgy to Continue at Augustana June 25 and July 2, 2017

Augustana Lutheran Church, 1201 Broadway Avenue in Saskatoon, is pleased to announce that its 10:30 a.m. services on June 25 and July 2, 2017 will use the Hosanna Jazz Liturgy. Many in Saskatoon have come to look forward to the Hosanna Jazz Liturgy as part of the celebration of jazz music that occurs during the SaskTel Saskatchewan Jazz Festival, which will be held June 23-July 2, 2017.

The liturgy was written by David Hunter and Dennis Hendrickson when they were students at Lutheran Theological Seminary in Saskatoon and first used at King of Glory Lutheran Church in Saskatoon in November 1985. The liturgy has been used at least annually at Augustana from 1993 to 2016.
